* Following some negative feedback from the public about the new welcome sign recently erected on the Adelaide road, two Broken Hill City Councillors have called for an extraordinary Council meeting where a decision to go ahead with the new signage for all entrances to Broken Hill will to be considered.

* The popularity of last yearís sports awards has seen a boost in nominations for this year. The second Sportsperson of the Yearî awards for the best sports players and teams in Broken Hill will be held at a ceremony tomorrow at the Civic Centre.
