* Menindee local Deb Newitt is riding a horse 122 kilometres from Pooncarie to Menindee next week to raise money for the Menindee Tourism Association and help her home town.

* Twenty Rotary club members on bicycles rode 648 kilometres from Victor Harbor to Broken Hill for this weekend’s annual Rotary Conference.

* The NSW Water Minister said she can see that the lack of inflows and water over-allocation was causing pain for Menindee residents and property owners.

* Richard Unsworth, a former farm manager and small business owner in Menindee, has been appointed by the Murray-Darling Basin Authority as the Regional Engagement Officer for Menindee and the lower Darling river.

* Broken Hill Mayor and Labor candidate for Barwon at the state election, Darriea Turley, said the change in the seat was welcome.
