* A random act of kindness from visitors to the city recently resulted in almost $2,000 being raised for the Pastoralists’ Society to distribute, as far West Proud Gift Cards, to farming families as they see fit.

* A Port Augusta man has been charged with breaching an ADVO, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, and intimidation at a home in Broken Hill. In a separate incident, a man, 44, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm after an incident about 1am Monday.

* Broken Hill Cake Decorators have organised a two-day cake decorating workshop at the Zinc Bowling Club, with two national judges as guest presenters. It commences at 9.15am today.

* The Chairman of Havilah Resources has slammed the actions of the company’s founding shareholders in voting against a $100m investment by GFG’s Alliance’s subsidiary SIMEC Mining during a shareholder vote last week.
