IN THIS EDITION: * First National Real Estate will holding a Drought Relief Sausage Sizzle tomorrow at its office in Oxide Street. If you don’t want to miss out on a snag, you may put in an order or even just make a donation. All money raised goes to the Buy a Bale charity.
* The tap was left running at an industrial water tank, about 28 kilometres from Broken Hill, which was erected for the Wentworth pipeline work in the city… The water tank on the Sydney road, which has been hired by the W2BH project, was found gushing water at a rate of 340 litres per second around 4.40pm on Tuesday.
* The Broken Hill High School is looking to preserve a collection of ‘Golden Oldies’ documents, photos and other pieces in an archive room it aims to build for that purpose. Yesterday, the Sturt Club donated $5000 to help the school’s efforts to set up a disaster-proof room to safely store the history collected by its former students.
* Locals were able to view the wonders of space at the racecourse on Tuesday night with the help of a mobile observatory.
