* Secretary of the Health Services Union Gerard Hayes has arrived in Broken Hill to begin a tour of the Far West to check on staffing levels and the morale of public health and hospital workers that include ward staff and those in administration, managers and some cleaners.
* The Australian Rail Track Corporation has flown in structural engineers to undertake an in-depth inspection of the damage caused by an excavator at the Kanandah Road railway bridge over the weekend.
* The Country Universities Centre Far West is hosting a free referencing and plagiarism workshop on Sunday. The workshop will get underway from 3pm at the centre at 318-324 Crystal Street.
