* Wind, dust and rain affected the annual race meet but that didn’t dampen the spirits of those in attendance or the committee.

* The dust and cloudy sky may have caused a grey backdrop for the St Pat’s Fashions on the Field but no matter, because the winners all opted for bright’ and colourful outfits.

* Over 50 jobs will be cut from TAFE NSW across the Central West of the state – with four of those jobs being lost in Broken Hill.

* The Perfect Light Film Festival kicks off on Friday with a movie screening before locals are treated to a selection of short films on Saturday evening.

* The community would like to see a greener CBD with more disability access.
